As you drive north out of Auckland, there are just some amazing off-the-wall things to see and do. But this one deserves its own recognition.
The public toilets at Kawakawa are well worth the pit stop. In fact, the town has expanded on the original facilities and added a whole community center to showcase the work that went into this incredible piece of art. Also known as the Hundertwasser Toilets, for the artist who designed them, this showcase of architecture and art features bottles walls and mosaics. Trust me - just go!
